7:30 p.m. update: The crash occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. while the plane was on approach to Pahokee Airport, also known as Palm Beach County Glades Airport, according to the FAA.
6:50 p.m. update: The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says its marine unit deputies recovered five individuals and that all five were killed.
Weather was not believed to be a factor in the crash, according to Spectrum News reporter Troy Kinsey and Spectrum Bay News 9 meteorologist Diane Kacmarik.
Kinsey said the plane was a Piper Aztec, which is commonly used as a training plane. He also said the Pahokee Airport where the plane crashed does not have a control tower.
TAMPA, Fla. -- A plane flying out of Tampa International Airport crashed Friday afternoon in Lake Okeechobee.
The twin-engine Piper aircraft crashed into water on approach to Pahokee Airport at about 3:30 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
It was not immediately know how many people were on board. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office posted on Twitter that one person was missing.
"One individual was observed swimming away from the airplane, however, has not been located," the Sheriff's Office posted.
The FAA is investigating.
PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- A Largo father was arrested Wednesday and charged in connection with the murder of his seven-week-old baby.
According to his arrest affidavit, Suffoletto was watching his daughter, Gianna, on February 28. The baby's mother was not home.
Suffoletto allegedly told investigators he heard the baby moaning and gasping, so he threw cold and hot water on her face instead of calling 911.
When the mother returned home, she found Gianna unresponsive. She called 911 and the baby was brought to the hospital.
Gianna died from her injuries on March 5.
Investigators with the Largo Police Department say Gianna suffered blunt force trauma to her head, torso, and legs. The baby reportedly had rib fractures, tibia fractures and a broken femur. She also suffered brain hemorrhages.
Gianna's mother allegedly told investigators that Suffoletto would often get frustrated with the baby when she was fussy.
Suffoletto has reportedly denied the abuse. He remains in jail.
PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- During a news conference Tuesday afternoon, Sheriff Bob Gualtieri announced the arrest of a former Juvenile Justice Detention Officer accused of having sexual relations with juvenile male inmates.
According to investigators, Harrison was grooming his victims, bribing them with food and money in exchange for sexual acts.
Gualtieri said Harrison would enter inmate's cells multiple times throughout his overnight shifts and bring them food items, such as subs and hot chocolate. Investigators say Harrison would also bribe the inmates by allowing them to use his cell phone.
Harrison is charged with sexual battery and introduction of contraband.

Now, health inspectors have also shut down the Big Apple Buffet’s original location on 58th Street in St. Petersburg.
The location was ordered to temporality close on July 27th with 27 violations, including raw chicken found between 45°-60°, a garbage dumpster filled with flies and maggots, and a fly strip discovered hanging directly above the ice cream cooler.
The inspector also documented 178 rodent droppings along the restaurant’s cook line, under the buffet and salad bar, around a hibachi table, and even smashed on the bottom side of woks.
